Is Sunscreen Supplied?

Yes, each room is supplied with 50+ sunscreen recommended by the Cancer Council. Staff apply sunscreen or assist children to apply sunscreen before outdoor activities. This is effectively monitored with room charts. If your child is sensitive to sunscreen you may like to supply your own that you know your child can use.
The centre has a ‘No Hat No Play’ policy so we supply hats that are clearly named and stay at the centre.

Do I still pay if my child is sick or on holidays?

Yes, you are paying for your child’s position at the centre. The centre currently offers families make up days when your child is absent due to illness or public holidays. Make up days are only available if there is a vacancy or absence in the group required. A limit of 15 make up days will be provided each calendar year. Families are required to book these days at the office. There is no guarantee that all missed days will be able to be made up. Fees will not be refunded for days missed due to public holidays. All fees must be up to date to be eligible for a make up day.
Please see the conditions of a make up day in your enrolment pack provided at your tour.

Can I have an extra day on a casual basis?

If space is available due to another child being absent, additional days may be booked through the Director on a casual basis. If a parent has booked an extra day and is then not needed, at least 24 hours notice is needed. Failing to do so will incur a fee.

Payment of Fees

Payment of fees is required within the week your child attends unless alternative arrangements have been agreed on by management. Fees are to paid one week in advance. Payments can be made via direct debit, eftpos, cash or cheque. A late fee will apply for accounts two weeks behind.

How much does it cost?

The amount that you will pay will depend on your eligibility to claim Child Care Benefit (CCB) or Child Care Rebate (CCR) from the Australian Government. All payments will be means tested. You can find out what your percentage rate will be by phoning the Family Assistance Office on 13 61 50 or going to the office in person. Alternatively you can access their websites on http://www.centrelink.gov.au or http://www.familyassist.gov.au and follow the links to the Child Care Benefit section.

What is the Centre's Reference Number to link my child to the service?

The centre’s reference number that is linked to the CCMS (Family Assistance Office) is: 1-631-1826 This is the number that you need to provide the Family Assistance Office when starting at our centre. They will use it to link your child/ren to our service to claim CCB and CCR.

Do I have to give notice when leaving the centre?

Two weeks verbal or written notice must be given to the Director/Assistant Director for:

  • A child ceasing attendance
  • A child changing their normal attendance days
  • A child who is absent or on holidays for an extended period.

While the centre management will attempt to accommodate families who need to change their days of care, it may not be always possible to offer the required days immediately.

Aroona Child Care Centre has been such a loving & nurturing environment for both my girls who started in the Baby Room at 6mths of age. I feel that it is truly a family environment & that makes it so much easier to leave them knowing there in the best possible care.  The Centre is family owned & run with long term staff who know what they’re doing & most importantly they love what they’re doing.

The staff at Aroona Child Care are amazing & definitely the backbone of the business & the children absolutely love them.
